Mr.
Sellers is Executive Vice President of Latitude Management Real Estate Investors, Inc
("LMREI"), formerly Legg Mason Real Estate Investors, Inc., the manager of Legg Mason Real Estate Capital (the "Fund")
a commingled fund with a diverse investor base. Mr. Sellers will serve as a member of
the Investment Committee for the Fund and will lead the reporting and compliance
functions for both the fund and the manager.
Prior to joining Legg Mason in 2000, Mr. Sellers was a Principal in Prudential Carbon Mesa ("PCM"). At PCM, he was chairman of the credit committee for the company and its funds. Mr. Sellers was also responsible for reporting and compliance functions at PCM.
From 1995 to 1998 Mr. Sellers was Vice President and Senior Portfolio manager at ING Real Estate Investors ("ING"). At ING Mr. Sellers was the chief operational officer responsible for the Mountain AMD portfolio. Mountain AMD was one of two public-private partnerships in which the FDIC participated. Through the term of this partnership Mr. Sellers was the FDIC’s primary contact on this portfolio. At ING, Mr. Sellers was also responsible for the management and disposition of ING’s B piece portfolio, and worked with Mr. Sonnenberg to successfully obtain a Special Servicer rating for ING Real Estate Investors.
Prior to his work at ING, Mr. Sellers worked for First Nationwide Bank ("FNB") and was one of the two principals responsible for the formation of Mountain AMD and the sale of FNB’s interest in that portfolio to ING. Mr. Sellers other duties at FNB included credit monitoring and his role as a lead participant on the real estate portfolio annual reserve reviews by the FDIC and OTS. Prior to his work at FNB, Mr. Sellers was First Vice President of Security Pacific National Bank after beginning his career at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.
Mr. Sellers graduated with honors from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, with a BA in economics and received his MBA in finance from the University of California at Los Angeles.
