Mr. Swartz is responsible for asset management and serves as General Counsel for Latitude Management Real Estate Investors, Inc.’s (“LMREI”) family of funds.
Prior to joining LMREI, Mr. Swartz was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of SAFCO Capital Corporation from 2009 to 2010. Mr. Swartz was responsible for legal affairs and risk management and focused on the acquisition, disposition and management of retail properties.
From 1998 to 2009, Mr. Swartz was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Arden Realty, Inc., a publicly-traded real estate investment trust (NYSE: ARI) prior to Arden’s acquisition by General Electric in 2006. Mr. Swartz was responsible for Arden’s legal, corporate and risk management affairs. He was involved with property operations, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, construction, the accounting and finance teams and asset management strategies.
From 1991 to 2008, Mr. Swartz was a real estate attorney with the Los Angeles law firm of Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis, LLP.
Mr. Swartz attended the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and received his B.S. in Economics in 1988. He received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 1991.
